The controversy about the launch of the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) codenamed Operation Amotekun by the six governors of the South West was not unexpected. Indeed, all these efforts were reactions to the public outcry over the security challenges facing the region. I must commend the six state governors for coming together and ensuring that the project becomes a reality. But then where we find some regions attempting to complement the efforts of formal security agencies, we attempt to cooperate. That’s why the Amotekun initiative is a welcome one to secure this part of Nigeria.
